Alumni and Friends

Welcome, Center on Aging alumni and friends. We at the CoA are committed to research, education, and outreach in order to more completely understand the aging process, inform others about how to age well, and improve the lives of older adults and their families in the community. Perhaps during your time at CSU you completed the GISP program or helped us in a different way fulfill our mission. As a CSU alumnus and friend of the CoA, we hope you stay in touch with us.

On these pages, you can update your alumni information and learn about making a gift to the CoA. Contributions from individuals like you are critical to our success. You may also send us comments and questions through the alumni update form.

If you earned your Certificate in Gerontology through GISP, please contact Dr. Christine Fruhauf (Christine.Fruhauf@ColoState.EDU or by phone at 970.491.1118) to update your information. In particular, we are interested in hearing about your current place of employment in addition to updating our contact information for you. Thank you. We look forward to hearing from you.

Importance of Giving

Thank you to our friends and alumni. Today, private funding is essential to the CoA more than ever. Many cuts in education funding over the past years have made it harder and harder for the CoA to fulfill its mission and to support the activities of the affiliated faculty and students. It is important to fund units such as the CoA to do systematic research and to educate others about the diverse challenges of growing older in a modern society.

Your contributions are essential to help keep the CoA going. Your gifts help us to:

  • support the research programs of faculty affiliates;
  • enrich students’ education in the area of gerontology; and
  • engage in community outreach services, often in collaboration and coordination with community organizations.

Ways to Give

We appreciate your support. All gifts—no matter what the size—are valued and make a difference to us. If you would like to support the activities of the CoA, you can do so in a number of ways. Below you find the information on how to give either by e-mail, regular mail, or by calling the development office in the College of Applied Human Sciences.
