Aging Research Registry
The Center on Aging invites men and women age 20 and older in the State of Colorado to register for participation in studies related to adult development and aging. Researchers affiliated with the Center on Aging will use this list to contact volunteers to aid them in their studies.
The registry is open to everyone and, in general, there are no restrictions, health-related or otherwise. However, specific research projects may screen individuals in the registry with regard to certain health conditions (e.g., ability to walk and drive, arthritis, pain, etc.) or other requirements (e.g., family status, personal interests, life experiences, etc.).
If you register, we will periodically send you information about opportunities to take part in research studies. Studies are concerned with a variety of topics, ranging from cardiovascular and neuromuscular health to rehabilitation after stroke, from memory functioning and mental fitness to personality development, and from family caregiving to living in long-term care. Regardless of what a project has as its topic, you will never be required to participate in any study and you always have the right to say “No.” If you choose not to take part in a particular study, you will not be disqualified from participating in future studies. If you do choose to volunteer your time to a specific study, you may withdraw at any time.
All information that you share with us is kept completely confidential and is not shared with anybody not affiliated with the Center on Aging. Also, all research protocols are approved by the Colorado State University Human Subjects Committee. The Human Subjects Committee assures that all study participants are protected against any harm or unreasonable risks and that all research is conducted in compliance with the federal guidelines for the responsible conduct in research.
To join the volunteer registry, please fill out the study participant registry form. Completing this form places your name on a list of possible study participants. You filling out this form does not mean that you commit to taking part in anything.
